Inheritors by Megajoule

A clone of the greatest super ever, with only a fraction of the power.

Gabe is a clone of the greatest superhero in the world. He lives in the gutters of Houston, hiding from agencies that would liquidate him, and trying to live up to the legacy that Megajoule left behind. He bleeds in dark hallways, he breaks bones over little girls sold into sex slavery.

He wonders: can he make a difference when he’s got a fraction of the power that Megajoule had? Or is he doomed to being a cheap imitation of the real thing?

Note: Inheritors contains some graphic sexual content, graphic violence, and harsh language.

It has an intense excitement to it, with lots of fast moving fight scenes, but yet the kindness and the humor of the main character, Gabe, the clone, shine through.

May 28, 2018: A few weeks ago, I finished catching up with the story that is Inheritors.

These days, it seems that superhero fiction is a popular genre to write about, and superhero serials flood the halls of the internet. It’s hard to find gems among all of the similar subject matter, but when a gem is found, it certainly shines brighter than the rest in the process.

Superheroes With A Horror Edge

IN SHORT: Inheritors feels like a solid entry into the arena of ‘vaguely young adult’ superhero web fiction. All in all, the fact that it operates so comfortably in the genre is both a positive and a negative. A strong beginning that I feel will only improve, especially given Episode 12.

IN DEPTH: Inheritors follows Gabe, a vigilante who is the cloned ‘descendant’ [more . . .]
