Nano by Kyler

sci-fi, futuristic, nanobots, superheroes, superpowers

They say evolution is no longer possible.

That the human race has stagnated.

Physicality no longer plays a role in modern survival of the fittest, so what’s left to change?

Makrotech has developed a revolutionary type of nanotechnology, designed to usher in a new age of humanity. To force the evolution.

18 year old Rhea and Jasper are their catalysts.

Stopping crime is easy with nanobot powered fireballs and lasers. Nobody sees it coming.

But hey, things change.

Such is the natural way.

Adapt or die, right?

Note: Nano is unfinished, and will likely remain so.  It contains some graphic violence and harsh language.

Apr 17, 2014: I’ll start this review off by saying this serial is still pretty new, only 7 chapters posted currently so anything I say may not be relevant later.

Each chapter is fairly short, whether that’s a good or bad thing depends on personal taste. The writing is solid although it does have typos and tense troubles here and there.

The story is set in the future and the writer does a good job of showing that in the characters’ day to day life. It’s pretty science-y and the author (I think) does their best to make it realistic. (Don’t quote me, I’m not an expert)

There’s usually at least two scene changes within each chapter, which makes it feel kind of bumpy and not smooth. The relationship between the two main characters is also hard for me to wrap my head around sometimes. They’ve only really became friends very, very recently yet seem to trust each other a great deal. This is probably something that will be fixed once more chapters are out and they get more developed.

Overall, pretty interesting story with good potential. Pick this up if superpowers and science are your thing.
