Jan 30, 2013: This is an intriguing and rewarding read, for a lot of reasons. The ship’s voice is engaging from the start. Some of the other characters take their time establishing themselves, but I immediately cared what happened to Starry and her cranky engineer, and wanted to keep reading. Mystery and intrigue are introduced at just the right pace, and developed with subtlety and some very clever and unexpected twists.
