Broomfield’s Box by Teri Cross Chetwood

The Lives And Times Of The Fabulous Cornwall Sisters

The Fabulous Cornwall Sisters:

Quick-tempered, childish, and self-absorbed, Lacy Cornwall is an exotic dancer with a heart of gold. Whether it’s arguing with her sister Thea or holding a sex-toy party with her stripper friends (Shadowcat, Li’l Bit, Bianca, and Freaky Frieda), you can bet that Lacy’s in the center of the action, having a ball.

Dorothea (Thea) Wilhelmina Conrwall is sensible, level-headed and completely at the mercy of Lacy’s crazy ideas. Somehow she always gets sucked in to the madness and fun.

The Cornwall sisters will argue over anything, from two-headed quarters to not having enough money to pay for $450 plates of Kobe beef. In the end, you know they love each other, but you can’t help smiling at their antics.

Note: Broomfield’s Box contains some graphic sexual content and harsh language.

Funny, sure. Going somewhere? Not so sure about that

Oct 7, 2012: "Broomfield’s Box" is blog-fiction, which means the structure is of a blog (which in my mind is similar to a diary) and the posts are "in character"—made by fictional people about fictional events.

I don’t like blog-fiction in general—diary structure means that narrators "tell" a lot of details directly instead of "showing" events through actions. It makes sense for the convention of a diary, because you wouldn’t need to show yourself scenes that you were present for, you could just tell [more . . .]

The Blog Is the Tip of the Iceberg

By ericinwisconsin, member

Nov 22, 2012: Unlike Gavin WIlliams, fictional blogs are my cup of meat, and I’ve been reading this one for awhile. Not perfect, but enjoyable.

The blog is mostly designed to get you interested in the books. To be honest, I haven’t bought those books and I probably won’t, but that’s just fine with me. The blog has a lot to recommend it.

Lacy and Thea are known as "The Fabulous Cornwall Sisters" and they [more . . .]
