Subjugation by James Galloway (Fel)

Subjugation is a story that centers around Jason Fox and Jyslin Shaddale.  The Faey, an alien telepathic race, has taken control of Earth and are using it as a farming colony to supply food for their empire.  Jason is a college student who is learning faey technology, but is upset with the faey and their treatment of Earth.  Along the way, Jason meets a fiery red head name Jyslin, who takes a fancy to him and will not take no for an answer.  There is a problem though.  Jyslin is a Faey Imperial Marine.  And, marines are not easily deterred . . .

Note: Subjugation contains some harsh language.

The Prologue is a bit dry because it tells the history that sets up the story in an almost textbook-way.  The first chapter looks promising as it moves to the point of view of a student living two years after the Faey have taken over.

I have mixed feelings about this story.  On one hand, I have a laundry list of dislikes about it.  On the other hand, I did read through the whole novel (although I was skimming some toward the end) and I don’t regret doing so.  The result is going to be a long review.  The short version: 3.5 stars, don’t be [more . . .]

Just like a Michael Bay movie – for better or worse.

It’s fun story to read in the same way a Michael Bay movie can be a fun film to watch – as long as you turn your brain off first. The first half is actually a lot of fun as the educated but uncreative Faey keep getting stumped by a human electronics student. After that it turns into an acceptable [more . . .]

Absolutly great story. Do not skip this one. It may seem kind of long but it is a great read and I have already read it like 10 times. There are additional books not listed on this site that go with this one and I hope to see them up here soon as well. I would love for everyone to [more . . .]
