This author draws you in with characters you care about and an engrossing story-line. The writing is clear and flowing and the attention to detail brings the story to life. It is not often that you find an author who can create a world as vividly real as this.

CONSIDER WHAT BECOMES OF THE ASHES

An Intersting Tale

The tone of ‘Consider What Became of the Ashes’ was distant, and the story took leaps in time with little warning. It was not confusing, though. In fact, it was quite entertaining. The narrative voice worked well to tell Noah’s tale, and found appropriate avenues to insert details of Noah’s past, which is quite a sad story. Living in a city where status is determined by how high up you live, Noah aims to find his way to the top, taking all the opportunities he can to do so. His determination is commendable, and the hardships he survives on a regular basis will make you feel for him, and appreciate the kindness of those who show him kindness – however small an act is it. Its an interesting tale, and a decent read for anyone who is interested in a little fantasy, but likes a sense of realism amidst it all.

PHILLY GAYBORHOOD

Philly Drama

Member: Savannah

If you are a fan – even the slightest fan – of drama, gossip, or soap operas, this is a read for you. It will keep you reading and reading. It kept me. The story is about a group of friends in Philly, told by the only female in their close-knit group. It features the narrator, who is not actually telling her own story, but rather the story of her best friend and his long time ‘first love’. It is both dramatic and sweet. Each character is a whole other story (sometimes literally), and they all bring a nice juicy dish of drama to the table. The story, told in both chapters and episodes (you have to actually go to the site to understand that), is actually like a TV drama in a book, and it keeps you turning the pages. The story is simple, though, and it doesn’t confuse (as most dramas do), and it shows the romantic relationships (or the lack of) of the other characters, but doesn’t seem too focused on them. I like that the story isn’t completely focused on romance, though, and had interesting things about the everyday lives of the characters. This is a book to take with you on a nice day out, and i can assure you that you will not be bored.
