Edie was pleased to get a job working the vast space-tanker/cruise-ship Aquarius as a systems programmer, particularly as she was a ‘totemized’ person—transformed into a walking, human-sized cat.
But she couldn’t have imagined what she’d face there—whether it was the terrors of the planet-sized Main Tank, water reservoir for terraforming and alive with unthinkable denizens, or the shock of her co-workers, also totemized, and alive with unthinkable social mores . . . or Walter, the wolflike man she would desire and evade.
He was a nice guy, after all—too nice. And Edie was good at being nice, and used to maintaining standards far above the wanton, immoral ways of her other fellow crew-members. He at least would respect her wishes.
But how could he respect her terrible secret that had driven her down to the docks night after night- a secret she thought she had fled, for good?
Note: Aquarius contains some graphic sexual content and harsh language.
