This is written with a difficult viewpoint; a series of journal entries. This is a tempting format to use, but, as we see here, it makes for difficult reading. In addition he has chosen a very difficult verb tense, making the reading doubly difficult.

The log entries really need dates and times. That is one of the real advantages of that format.

I will look forward to seeing how this turns out.
