I’ve read the first two chapters, and I’m so far I’m intrigued. The story takes place in a futuristic space empire where the government exercises over reaching control of its citizens lives. The writing style took a little getting used to, but gives the impression that you are looking at things from the point of view of a foreign culture.

The empire (called a republic) is apparently experiencing a civil war or revolution.

The story seems to be written to give you a feeling of oppression and has a serious mood.
