EXILE'S BURN

The Fight Continues

Sometime in the future the human population of Earth is scattered throughout space.  Planets are colonised and aspects of the settlers’ original culture survives.  The peoples of Harvest appear to have descended from the Celts, and those of Waga Chun from Native Americans.

For the ambitious Zatvians, one planet was never going to be enough.  Their merciless forces blazed a trail through space conquering other civilisations and destroying any planet that dared to stand in their way.  At the time we join the story the war is officially over and a Zatvian Empire has been established.

Exile’s Burn is the story of a group of survivors – mainly outcasts, who form the crew of a pirate spaceship and ultimately part of the resistance.  In particular, the story focuses on two crew members – Neva and Rat.  Like all good stories there is a twist – or several.

The techno speak is kept to a minimum and the character names are pronounceable.  The writing is of a high standard, the author creates a bleak and believable space inhabited future for the human race.

By the end of the book the main characters are well developed and there are several interesting minor ones too.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed the story there were a couple of occasions when I found myself wishing that the pace would pick up a bit, that the action had lasted longer or that the characters had displayed a bit more grit.

The story is available in a pdf, html or mobipocket.  There is also a sequel – Fire in the Void.
