Metaworld Chronicles by Wutosama

21st Century Jane Ayre with DnD Magic

Gwen Song awoke in a new world where all that she was familiar with had disappeared and she must begin from zero. A 21st-century tale of an Earth ruled instead by magic, where humanity lives in enclaves shielded from magical beasts and otherworldly beings. Follow Gwen as she struggles to once again rebuild her life in the new world, a tale of companionship, adventure, and Spellcraft! Grow with Gwen as she grows from high school to university, and finally onto the real world, discovering the secrets of a real-life world made unreal by magic and Mages.

Loosely based on the setting of classic Dungeon and Dragons, but set in the Modern World.

Note: Metaworld Chronicles contains some graphic violence and harsh language.

Stuck in a rut

By AVR, member

Aug 5, 2018: It starts off interesting with a potentially flawed main character and an interesting magic system, but as it goes on she becomes ever more all powerful, everyone thinks highly of her, she does less and less that’s new and the magic system turns into a means of measuring awesomeness rather than any kind of restriction. Aside from a passive resistance to some spells and apparently self-possession beyond her apparent age, and fashion sense her background from another world never gpes anywhere either.

There’s a fair few typos immediately after the rewritten chapters (and a few in those rewritten chapters) but they become less common as the story goes on.
