Mists of Kel Doran: Dragon-Touched by Scott Matthews

For all of recorded history, the Old Gods ruled the world of man with an iron fist, manipulating and enslaving them as they drew power from their subordinates. In time, the Dragon Aspects rose up and fought to free mankind, pushing the Old Gods back and banning them from the world.

It’s been nearly a thousand years since the ‘Dragon Wars’ freed the kingdoms of man, and for nearly a thousand years, a ‘mist’ has crept across the world, withering and destroying everything in its path. As man struggles to learn the secrets of the Mist, their Dragon Protectors lie dormant, keeping the Old Gods at bay.

But as the Mist begins to creep into the heart of man’s new world, something dark begins to stir. From the greatest depths of Kel Doran, something . . . has awakened.

The Mists of Kel Doran is a Medieval Fantasy Series set in the ‘Dark Ages’ of Mankind. Inspired by our own medieval era, it explores this dark and brutal time, taking a look at man’s inhumanity toward man in the name of religion.

Note: Mists of Kel Doran: Dragon-Touched contains some graphic sexual content, graphic violence, and harsh language.

Desperately needs to stop trying so hard

Mar 18, 2018: To start with, the story’s site drags up old memories of the angelfire days, for those who remember the internet of 20 years ago. It starts with a picture of a woman’s face, full of obligatory CGI alterations and what looks to be an abandoned monastery. Then you scroll past all the plugs for a youtube audiobook and facebook sharing and all that jazz. Ubiquitous Patreon plug. All at the top of the page, not quietly sitting in the corner where they can be ignored.

Mar 23, 2018: I guess full disclosure, this is part of a swap. Okay, so the story, I’ve read into this a bit, and I read about five chapters. Let’s start off with the good, because I always feel we should be nice. I found myself actually quite interested in the story. It’s fantasy and it’s a pretty classical fantasy in a lot of ways, and there’s a lot of appealing elements to that concept. A lot of fantasies nowadays are very reactionary. Although up to the part where I read, it was [more . . .]
