Stolen Planet by Jillian Fitzgerald

“Something’s coming.” That’s the last thing his father told him. Sheeran Bixby was doing his best to keep out of trouble the last two weeks of his high school career. He never expected to be running for his life instead of taking his last exams or fighting to save his father instead of fighting the urge to cut class. But when unidentified spacecraft break through the atmosphere, nothing in Sheeran’s life will ever be the same again.

High Hopes Deflated

By illlogicmedia, member

Nov 13, 2013: Stolen Planet . . . the name sure brings up some interresting images for highly imaginative people. I mean, how does one "STEAL" a planet? Alien invasion no less!

First of all I have to say that nothing irritates me more than having to "sign-up" for yet SOMETHING ELSE "FREE" in order to enjoy it. JukePop Serials is a pay per vote/referral website. I would’ve much rather this author obtained a personal blog or a wordpress website and then threw on a "donation" button. His first chapter is just not worth the sign up to continue in my humble opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a bad chapter per se. I would’ve liked to have seen a little more character development to get to understand just a bit of who’s life I’ll be enjoying. Instead the author almost immediately jumped into the big reveal in the first chapter.

I need to be teased a little, massaged a bit, played with, before you try to "wow" me. I need to be left wanting more, and I just didn’t get that. The chapter seemed really short. It was simple enough that an 6th grader probably would’ve enjoyed it a bit more.

I am not putting this on my recommended list due to the fact you have to sign up to continue to the next chapter. Then, there is only one more chapter after that.

Hope this helps.
