Fantasy is not my favourite genre. Which is why I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying "Strong Heart" immensely. The characterization is excellent, the environments colourful and well realized, and there is not a fantasy cliché in sight. Things are perhaps a little too slow moving as Jo goes back and forth meeting various characters and setting up the plot, but there was enough excitement promised to keep me reading.
