Sythyry is a fairly young immortal, a maker of enchanted clothing and other modern conveniences in the city of Vheshrame, the city’s ambassador to the dreadful monster Vae, the patron noble of a household full of misfits called Castle Wrong, and a diary-keeper. After the death of the last of zir college friends, Sythyry decides to go on vacation in zir new sky-yacht, the Strayway. Which is not a simple matter, since it means taking Vae and half of Castle Wrong along . . .
Sythyry’s Vacation is a slice-of-life web drama written by Bard Bloom. Episodes appear a few times a week, or more or less depending on the rhythm of Bard’s life.
Sythyrys Vacation is the quasi-sequel to Sythyry’s Journal, a diary of Sythyry’s college days. Sythyry’s Journal is a century in the past. Sythyry’s Vacation can be read first — and, since it is written by a more experienced writer for a wider audience, probably it should be read first.
Sythyry’s story is split in two parts; the second part can be read without reading the first.
The first, Sythyry’s Journal, is Sythyry’s first couple years in college, and can be found in a single (somewhat raw) file at http://chezgargoyle.com/sythyry/sythyrys-journal-complete.html (or linked from the Sythyry.com main page with link name “Sythyry’s Journal”).
Sythyry’s Vacation can be read from the beginning from http://sythyry.com/2009/02/18/821/ (or the “First Entry of Sythyry’s Vacation” link on the front page), or the first 150,000 or so words can be read at the “Sythyry’s Vacation collected” link).
Note: Sythyry’s Vacation contains some graphic violence and harsh language.
