Editor’s First Impression

By Linda Schoales, editor

Mar 26, 2010: The first chapter is well-written, with a light, young adult/adventure tone. The king trades places with his cousin and rides off on an adventure with an elf as his companion and guide.

Please Sir, Can I Have Some More?

By Miladysa, author of Refuge of Delayed Souls

Apr 12, 2010: Action • adventure • elves • fantasy • magic – are the kind of words that light my imagination. They are also the tags for The Ghost King in the Web Fiction Guide Listings. The story blurb was interesting enough for me to mentally add it to my “To Be Read” list along with quite a few others. It remained there for while, gathering dust – until now.

Part One was enjoyable enough to make me want to continue reading. Somewhere between there and Part Eight came that wonderful moment when I paused, took a deep breath, and crossed my fingers in the hope that the story continues to keep up the same enjoyable pace right to the end. Everything is in place for it to do so.

King Bonfort has left his castle – although to all intents and purposes he is still there. Something is afoot in his Kingdom and requires investigation. He sets off on the Old Roads (awesome!) with an Elf friend and a pair of magical pendants. So far, there have been a number of interesting encounters with wonderful characters.

The author’s “classic” storytelling skills have me spellbound. I want more and I want it NOW!

NB I had a little difficulty finding the navigation links (newer/older) at the bottom of each post but in no way did this distract from the story.
