The Ghosts of Earth has incredibly rich language and texture. If it was written in poem it would seem to be an epic poem. I have enjoyed what I have read of it.

However it is not a modern book. It is extremely slow. Indeed the first chapter covers millions of years of evolution. Thus the plot is a very, very long time getting going. I haven’t actually gotten there yet, so I can’t comment on it.

If you are looking for a book of action and excitement, this isn’t it. If you like rich words . . . this is definitely worth a look.
