Every now and then, I uncover a piece of literature that makes me utter the word, "Wow!" and I have to say that The Pride does that for me as a reader. It is well-written, with strong narrative and plot, with POV jumps that add to the story so far. Although some folks might have trouble with the POV shifts, I kind of liked the format, because it added to the story, giving it a unique flavor. The characters are true to life, each one having their own drama. This drama is not overwhelming for me as a reader, and I find myself enjoying all that I’ve read so far. I’d like to say that when I read on Twitter that Faydra was going to be releasing a webserial, I didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with how she dealt with the subject matter in a way that an Aussie lass such as myself can understand. It just goes to show that good storytelling can cut through cultural barriers.
