I read the first installment of Idiosyncracy and Intrepidity and instantly fell in love. I know I fell in love because it’s sci fi, because there are galaxies involved and shiny worms that chew wormholes through the fabric of space.
The writing is rough because of typos/grammatical errors/writing nuances, but it was engaging at the same. And, come on now, giant space traveling turtle! I think I read all the installments (I think there were five, but, after reading most of the stuff on four pages, reading half the stuff on page five, and skimming through the rest it’s likely I might have missed some). On that note, I think it would have been nice to have navigation links for the on going stories.
I think the author’s writing has potential. As I casually mentioned above, there are typos and grammatical errors, but also the prose itself could use a good edit and some tightening. It’s more easily overlooked in the Space Turtle saga, but it makes his shorter stories a little cumbersome to read. Because of this, I ended up skipping most of them, especially in the latter half of the pages. However, some of his short stories—the peg legged, hook wielding, one eyed pirate one for instance—were cute and interesting.
I also liked the haikus he had posted. Nice little bits of morning coffee to start the day off.
I still would have liked to see more Space Turtle stories.
All in all, this is a perfect site to read when you’re tired after a hard day’s work and just want to kick your shoes off and relax.
