At first, I detested Diggory Franklin. He was the kind of person I would walk a mile to avoid. For the most part, he was a spoilt lawyer with an equally spoilt friend who was just a smidgeon more interesting. Slowly, I changed my opinion and actually started to like Mr Franklin. Not only did I like him – I found myself rooting for him. Then the story became interesting.
Anything really worth having is worth waiting for and that is the mentality you need when you first start to follow this story. Pretty soon you realise that everything is not going to happen at once. In fact, for most of Book One very little appears to be happening at all despite a few snippets of what is ahead and a handful of interesting characters and chapters. You might even find yourself wondering if it is worth investing any more of your time in the story.
If you are wise you will continue to read on and arrive at Book Two. That’s when things start becoming really interesting! Before you know it, everything that has gone before suddenly appears to have a new or hidden meaning or perhaps not. Only time will tell – ‘time’ being the key to this mysterious adventure.
I enjoy thinking ahead and trying to work out plots for myself, anticipating the twists and turns as I read each chapter. I am equally as happy if I get the plot wrong as I am if I work it out. I am considerably delighted when I am surprised. This story gives me the opportunity to experience all three. Lovers of intrigue will not be disappointed here.
The site itself is easy to navigate and the opportunity is there to comment and interact with the writer in the forum.
It’s my intention to keep up to speed with the story. Diggory is in danger and just about anything could happen next!
