Tortured by V. J. Chambers

book three of the Jason and Azazel trilogy

Since she arrived in Italy, Azazel hasn’t been able to stop having nightmares. Sometimes her boyfriend Jason is covered in blood, grinning at her like a demon. Sometimes there is a gun in her hand, and she’s shooting the people she loves the most. The only way to stop the dreams is to drown them in liquor.

Azazel can hardly concentrate on anything else. Not the library located in the Sol Solis School. Not the secrets about Jason’s origins they need to discover there. Not the prom. Not the fact that she can’t have orgasms.

Azazel feels like black water is closing over her head. And she doesn’t know if she can breathe anymore.

Note: Tortured contains some harsh language.

Editor’s First Impression

Jan 8, 2010: The writing in the first chapter is solid. This is part 3 of a trilogy so it would probably be best to start with the first part, "Breathless".

Jan 8, 2010: Tortured . . . Chambers keeps us rooting for Jason and Azazel to stay alive. From all three of the books this one has to be my favorite. If you like house of night, twilight, or blue bloods this book is a must read. Even though it contains no vampires, the author makes up for it with Jason and Azazel being on the run. Start with Breathless, and then move on to Trembling, and then finally come back to be Tortured. .

Jun 21, 2010: Currently reading this book, im almost done, but i have to rave about it! i could relate so much to azazel, the nightmares, the curiosity, and the changing appearances. the action is incredible, i cant stop reading it. i have to say the story lines never fail to capture me, and now they seem much more real, with a new twist to the thrilling romance drama. i adore this book, and i still have a few more chapters left, although to me honest i read the last page because [more . . .]
