Transition and restart by Sten Düring

An Original English Light Novel

High school romcom. A bit of mystery, but mostly the kind of convoluted love story you’d expect from a Japanese manga.

It’s over the top, coincidences occur too often, tropes aplenty and melodrama always trumps realism.

Meta-posts are published in a different font. Posts are either meta or a piece of the story.

Note: Transition and restart contains some graphic violence and harsh language.

Transition and Restart is quintessential webfiction. It’s an Original English Language novel, which is already a little uncommon. Stranger still is the protagonist: a 50 year old Swedish business consultant who finds himself in the body of a 15 year old Japanese student.

Not your typical high school story

By Nina Santucci, author of Fooled

Jun 2, 2015: First of all, just a bit of disclosure, I started reading this story as part of a review trade – the author of "Transition and Restart", Sten During, agreed to read Fooled and review it for me. I’m not particularly familiar with the "light novel" format this story claims to adhere to, so I can’t really say whether this is a good or bad example of an LN. I can say that I think it is a bit unusual for WFG, since most of the stories here don’t follow the [more . . .]

A solid light novel I couldn’t get into

By Chrysalis, author of Anathema

May 23, 2015: This is my first attempt at a review, and I have to admit I couldn’t get into the story. I read the prologue and half of the first chapter (which is very, very long compared to most serial updates) and realized it isn’t my cup of tea for a number of reasons.

BUT! It doesn’t have to be. This is by no means a bad story, and I’m sure that a younger audience of Anime fans / light novel readers will [more . . .]
