WINTER RAIN

No title

I just read the first 59 installments in one sitting and now have happily added Winter Rain to my feeder so I can enjoy the frustration of cliff-hanging and anticipation of the next chapter.

A great story that unveils itself quite wonderfully. Well written, very visual – you forget that you’re reading and just get involved with the story and the characters.

There’s lots of detail specific to the ‘nature’ of these characters that I’d never considered – you’ve got to wonder if the author is also leading a double life!

WINTER RAIN

Increasingly good

I’m with Sonja: Present tense usually drives me batty. It’s extremely hard to do. And it’s a testament to Chris Poirier’s skill as a writer that he carries it off unobtrusively and naturally.

In fact, I don’t know if you could tell this story in past tense. The writing has an immediacy and a freshness that keeps the story of this young werewolf at the bottom of his pack constantly moving forward. I check it often for updates and am always happy when they appear—though I could wish for them to be longer.

Werewolf Mafia Drama

The site is well-designed, the story thought out carefully, and the writing is a grammar nut’s wet dream. With all of that going for it, you’d expect the actual action to be crap. Nope . . . dialogue rings true, description is concise, action is beautifully paced. Damn. Chris Poirier is a bloody good writer, and this serial has me hooked. And I’m happy about it. Give it a whirl, folks, whatever your reading preferences. You’ll probably be very pleasantly surprised.
