Feb 5, 2013: Are you alone? Is it dark? Is the house, maybe, creaking in a strange way? Now is the perfect time to read this story. Mwhahaha.
The main thing you need to know about Murkland is it is meant to scare your socks off. It starts with apartment walls dissolving and giving birth to monsters, and continues from there. It’s also good to know that there is a plot behind it all, an explanation for what is going on will develop, and maybe even hope of escape for the poor people experiencing these surreal horrors. Of course, denying that anything unusual is happening is never the answer . . .
The writing is quite solid, with evocative phrasing and few, if any, typos, but there are some minor technical problems. The text is small, except for occasionally being too big, and white on grey (which I do think is better than white on black). Some of the navigation links are not active and so one periodically has to go back to the table of contents (under Archive) to continue to the next page. Somewhat worrying is that there has only been one post in the last two months, but the author announces his New Year’s Resolution of completing the tale. Hopefully this review will encourage him.
He certainly shouldn’t leave it where it is now!
