Malika’s life in medieval Baghdad seems perfect. Then the rumours start surfacing—that her three husbands are (gasp!) literate. She’s pushed from her happy bubble to discover a world of murder, fanaticism, female eunuchs, genocide and spiced tea. . . .
Currently there are only 10 parts of “Battle of Amsterdam” posted in .pdf’s, but the story looks like it will be interesting. It takes place in a future where humans have colonized other planets and some cities have become autonomous. The narration follows five separate plot lines which will presumably interweave as the story progresses.
"The Keeper’s Promise" is solid fantasy writing. The action starts right away as the two newest Riders of their Wurd (tribe) race each other home and come across the elder brother of the race’s winner. He’s home early from a pilgrimage—because he was wounded in an attack on a city during his journey. He’s come home to warn the community.
