The first thing that grabbed me about the Untitled Thriller was that I thought it was a clever name. When I realized that it wasn’t actually the name of the serial I was reading, I thought it even more genius. As for the content, the first chapter really grabbed me on an emotional level. Whether this was because the writing was just that good or because it reminded me of me shortly after joining the military I’ll never know.(Experience tells me both, but thats neither here nor there).

The story opens with one of the five main characters giving you a bit about his backstory whilst on his way to work. Seems mundane and boring and in a way it is. However, his thoughts continously link and wander (as most people’s thoughts tend to do), and flow seamlessly from current thoughts to memories.

Throughout the story, the author maintains a third person viewpoint from the same distance regardless of the narrator. Each character has various thoughts, quirks and musings that get interjected into their narrative, growing and filling them out rather quickly.

The best part, is that even with so many viewpoints, I can tell the difference in narration almost immediately. Its the little details here that matter, what Nick calls "Nasty," Pepper might call "Horrid."

Now for things I didn’t like.

This is a bit hypocritical of me, but while the grey text/black background does work for the story and the overall site design, I don’t like it. It hurts my eyes. This is a non-issue for most of the serials I read, but this is the first time I had difficulty with the color scheme. It may have something to do with the font but I don’t know. Otherwise, I find site navigation simple an straight-forward. In all honesty, I think the color scheme is my only real beef with this serial.

All in all. An excellent read thus far, and I look forward to catching up on the archives.
