I'm always on the lookout for something good to read.
My taste in fiction varies widely, but mostly I am a big lover of the supernatural, particularly urban fantasy and science-fiction, and anything dark and twisted. I’m not a big fan of comedy, as it’s something I think is very difficult to write well, but a story that can make me chuckle every now and then is always appreciated.
I look for a well-rounded story, with interesting characters, a compelling plot, and solid, unadorned writing. Grammar and spelling mistakes drive me mad. A few typos here and there is fine; mistakes in every other sentence will put me off.
Also, I believe that web fiction (and the internet in general) isn't just about content: functionality and ease-of-use is paramount. As such, website layout can influence my judgement. I don't want something professional and flashy, just something easy to navigate!
