The writing is fairly solid in the first chapter.  The point of view jumps around but it’s easy to recognize the change.  Starts out with some "Highlander" echoes but that may change.  Worth a second look.

Plenty of Action at the Start

From what I read of the novel, it is reasonably well-written, with strong scenes and characters. Given that this is just the start of the novel, James might develop the main characters, who seem to be a secret society, one way or another—he set a goal of 1,000,000 words—but where the novel stands now, the society is villainous and self-righteous.
