AN INTIMATE HISTORY OF THE GREATER KINGDOM

An Intimate History Indeed

An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom has everything that every good fantasy story needs:  magic,  prophecies, mysterious—apparently immortal – mentors and curses just to mention a few.  But unlike most fantasy stories, there is no apparent Quest – it is simply the history of the Kingdom.  Not the dull sort of history in text books that are nothing but dates and other unmemorable facts, but the story of the people who shaped the course of a Kingdom.

An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom is also a story about the “current” rulers of the realm, focusing mostly on Prince Temmin with forays into the point of views of some of the secondary characters.

These two “histories” intertwine and complement each other.

An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom is also a fantasy with “all the good parts left in.”  The sex does not detract from the narrative, but only adds to it.  A word of warning:  some of the sex is non-consensual, but it is never graphic.

As a whole, An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom is a good story about love, honor, loyalty, and growing up, but it starts a little on the slow side.  I found it difficult to relate to Prince Temmin, finding that the “history” portions of the story were more interesting.  Even though An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom is well into its second volume, I am still uninterested in the prince’s character and I can only hope that as the story progresses that he will grow more as a character.

I would also like to mention that Meilin Miranda has done an excellent job constructing the site – it is easy to navigate and professional.
