Fast-Paced Space Opera

Jan 31, 2016: There were a number of things I enjoyed about reading this series. We follow the crew of a trader starship, the Whisper, and its crew. I enjoyed getting to know the crew and the captain, Amanpreet, but one of the most fun things for me was the author’s creativity in the alien species she weaves into the tale. I really enjoyed the way she revealed the details of each group’s appearance, climate requirements, and outlooks, and I had fun getting to know these people from such alien societies.

feels like classic 70’s sci fi

Sep 29, 2014: A spaceship crew, unusual technology that requires the human element to work, and a third person limited/unlimited viewpoint. YAY!

The beginning plot involves a merchant trader, soon to be caught in a web of interstellar intrigue and events. I’ve just started the series, but the writing is pretty solid, and the characters have my interest piqued. There are a few minor typos here and there which take away occasionally from the story, but the story and dialogue are well constructed and [more . . .]
