Jun 5, 2018: I love interesting stories that occur in modern fantasy settings, especially when the modernity is infused in such a way that it doesn’t produce dissonance with the setting and period. If the fantasy can fit right in, then I find that very appealing. Furthermore, if the fantasy manages to have a solid system that lends itself towards deep explorations behind the purpose for why the fantasy exists, then that elevates my enjoyment to peak levels.
